You should buy a paperback copy of Birds of a Lesser Paradise.  Here's why:

1.  It's cheaper than the hardback.  
2.  It looks real pretty in a stocking.
3.  There's a whole new story in it called "Phoenix" - about a working girl, a goat farm, a goat named Jesus, a leaky old farmhouse, and a fighting couple.
4.  It's got selectively cut nice words about my writing from respected journals and people.

If you buy one from Connie, the proprietrix at one of my local independent stores, Battenkill Books, I can personalize it for you.  I can write witty Christmas messages to your friends and your grandmother. I do what I'm told, and I have pretty handwriting.  It's largely illegible, but it's nice to look at.
